VIVEKANAND TRAIN VISITS LUDHIANA
Train of thought on Swami Vivekananda
Ludhiana: To know more about the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, a mobile museum and exhibition train called Vivek Express reached Ludhiana on Saturday 12 nov to 15 nov, 2011.
Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, Er. Sanjay Maheshwari, founder of Swami Vivekanand Saraswati Gurukul, Ludhiana said the special train, fully air-conditioned train depicts Swami Vivekananda's life and his teachings.
It has been covering important stations of the country, taking the message of religious harmony and unity to the masses. The Vivekananda Express consists of two air-conditioned coaches that have photographs, write-ups, signatures and some of the sayings etc exhibited to project the life, work and message of Swamiji.
Books
Over 200 titles about Vivekananda by Ramakrishna Math will be on sale. The Math will also distribute books on Vivekananda to the public.
Birth anniversary
The four-day exhibition traces the story of Ramakrishna Mission and how Swamiji set up the organisation that is now devoted to spiritual and educational activities around the country.
The train commemorates the 150 birth centenary of Swami Vivekananda by presenting facets of his life, his teachings. Visitors can see a range of pictures accompanied by stories of Vivekananda from his birth.
Some were enthused by the tenets that changed the minds of many and the principles which brought a new sea of thoughts to India, Rabrindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi, Anna Hazare are all disciples to teachings of Swami Vivekanand which changed and still change destiny of this country.The teachings of Swami Vivekananda contains the distilled essence of India’s spiritual treasures explained in the simplest language in the light of modern rational thought and science. They are universal in their scope and are meant for all people belonging to all strata of society, all religions, and all races. Swamiji’s powerful exhortations awaken the minds of the youth, instill self-confidence and courage in them to face the problems of life, fill their hearts with love and spirit of service, goad them to tread always the moral path, and guide them through the difficulties and uncertainties of life
